THE TECHNICAL SIDE
The PMO evaluates technical projects and sets realistic expectations about when/how a project can be delivered. We are responsible for identifying risks, reporting on progress, and ensuring the project stays on track.
THE PEOPLE SIDE
Project managers from IT partner with departments across campus. We ask questions such as, "What problem are we trying to solve?" and "How will the solution impact the department and its processes?" and "What does success look like?"
The Common Project Lifecycle
Every project progresses through a series of carefully measured stages aimed toward best practices in the use and assignment of resources while also delivering the desired outcome, on time and within budget. While each project will require its own set of unique processes and tasks, all follow a similar, carefully constructed framework. Like any journey, a project always includes a beginning, a middle and an end. This is referred to as the project lifecycle.
